Newly promoted Monza have signed 28-year-old left-back Ricardo Mangas from Sporting CP on loan with an obligation to buy subject to certain conditions, the Biancorossi confirmed on Thursday.
Mangas landed in Italy and underwent his medical tests before putting pen to paper on his new contract. The Portuguese defender, who can also play in a more advanced role, cost €1.5 million plus up to €0.4 million in add-ons.
Monza were forced to wait until securing promotion through the play-offs to guarantee their place back in Serie A alongside Venezia and Frosinone. They are now busy strengthening their squad for the top flight return.
