Napoli have announced that Alessandro Buongiorno underwent successful knee surgery today and will be sidelined for two to three months, while striker Lorenzo Lucca has suffered an ankle ligament sprain.
The Partenopei endured one injury crisis after another last season, and this summer appears to be following a similar pattern.
Buongiorno saw a specialist who confirmed he required surgery to repair the root of the medial meniscus in his right knee. The operation was performed today at the Jean Mermoz private hospital in Lyon, with surgeons confirming it was a complete success.
