AS Roma have completed the signing of Greece international Konstantinos Koulierakis from Wolfsburg, confirming the arrival of the 22-year-old centre-back on Saturday evening. The defender has put pen to paper on a five-year contract in the Italian capital after undergoing his medical tests, with the German club receiving a reported €16.5m plus €1.5m in add-ons. Wolfsburg have also secured a 20 per cent sell-on clause on any future sale of the Greek.
Koulierakis, who will wear the No. 33 shirt at the Stadio Olimpico, arrives as the second major piece of Roma's summer recruitment following the signing of Santiago Castro from Bologna. He is expected to provide competition and cover for Mario Hermoso at the heart of the Giallorossi defence, the reinforcement requested by head coach Gian Piero Gasperini as he looks to build a full and competitive squad.
A product of the PAOK Salonika youth academy, Koulierakis made his senior debut in 2022 and has since collected 22 caps for Greece. He left PAOK for Wolfsburg in 2024 in a deal worth around €11.75m and went on to make 59 Bundesliga appearances for Die Wölfe, scoring four league goals last season despite the club's relegation to the 2. Bundesliga.
