Real Madrid have completed the signing of Netherlands international Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan on a four-year contract, with the Spanish giants activating the 30-year-old's €20m (£17.1m) release clause.
The right-back becomes Real Madrid's fourth acquisition of the summer transfer window, following Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate to the Santiago Bernabéu. He is expected to provide competition for England's Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right flank.
Dumfries arrives after a successful five-year stint at Inter, where he made 207 appearances across all competitions, scoring 27 goals and providing 28 assists. During his time with the Nerazzurri, he won two Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia trophies, establishing himself as one of Europe's most consistent attacking full-backs.
The Dutchman joined Inter from PSV Eindhoven in 2021 and quickly became a key figure under several managers at San Siro. His energetic runs down the right wing and ability to contribute in the final third made him a fan favourite in Milan.
At international level, Dumfries helped the Netherlands reach the round of 32 at this summer's World Cup, adding to an already impressive CV.
