Midfielder Harry Winks has ended his turbulent spell at Leicester City by joining Serie A club Cagliari on a two-year contract, with the Italian side paying an undisclosed fee for the former Tottenham man.
The 30-year-old former England international departs the King Power Stadium after 109 appearances across all competitions, having arrived from Spurs for approximately £10 million in the summer of 2023. Winks was instrumental in Leicester's immediate promotion back to the Premier League under Enzo Maresca, playing a key role as the Foxes won the Championship title in his debut season.
His fortunes at the club soured dramatically from that point. After Leicester struggled in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign, Winks was omitted from the side by then-manager Ruud van Nistelrooy as the club battled against relegation — a fight they ultimately lost, dropping into the Championship. Initially left out of the squad by Marti Cifuentes, Winks regained his place under Gary Rowett but found himself at the centre of controversy after a heated exchange with a supporter as he boarded the team bus following a defeat at Portsmouth in April.
