Fenerbahçe Medicana have appointed Stefano Lavarini as head coach of their women's volleyball team, with the Italian returning to Istanbul on a two-year contract. The club confirmed the move on 8 August 2026, bringing back a coach who delivered silverware during his previous spell in charge.
Lavarini led Fenerbahçe in the 2023-24 season, lifting the Turkish Cup and the Sultanlar Ligi title in a single campaign. That success has framed his return: the club expect him to challenge for honours at home and in Europe over the next two seasons, with the Yellow Angels aiming to re-establish themselves among the continent's leading sides.
He arrives from Numia Vero Volley Milano, where he spent the past two campaigns building an ambitious project in Italy's top flight. His departure leaves Milano looking for a new bench, and Turkish media have already linked Gianlorenzo Blengini and Ferhat Akbaş with the vacancy, with an announcement expected in the coming days.
