Torino have officially completed the permanent signing of midfielder Kian Fitz-Jim from Ajax, the Serie A club announced on Friday. The 23-year-old Dutchman becomes the fifth arrival of the summer under sporting director Davide Petrachi, with the Granata confirming the deal in a statement on their official channels: the club said they were delighted to communicate the acquisition, on a permanent basis, of the sporting rights to the player from Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax, before welcoming Fitz-Jim with a message of good luck for the season ahead.
Born in Amsterdam on 5 July 2003, Fitz-Jim came through the youth systems of AFC Amsterdam and AZ Alkmaar before joining Ajax in the summer of 2019. He made his professional debut on 21 December 2020 for Jong Ajax in the Dutch second division against Telstar, and broke into the first team under Francesco Farioli, making his senior debut on 8 January 2023 in an Eredivisie meeting with N.E.C. A loan spell at Excelsior Rotterdam in the first half of the 2023/24 season brought 12 appearances and one assist across league and cup, before he returned to Amsterdam and established himself in the Ajax midfield.
In total, Fitz-Jim leaves the Amsterdam club with 72 appearances, seven goals and two assists across the Eredivisie, Champions League, Europa League and domestic cup, having also represented the Netherlands at every youth level from Under-15 to Under-21. The move is reported to have been completed for a fee of around three million euros, with the Dutch midfielder's Ajax contract having been due to run until 30 June 2027.
