Nicolò Zaniolo and Udinese have reportedly made significant progress in talks for a new contract, with Sky Sport Italia suggesting a full agreement could be reached within 24 hours, allowing the player to return to training on Monday or Tuesday.
The situation had become quite tense in recent weeks. Zaniolo, who arrived from Galatasaray on deadline day last summer on loan with an option to buy for €7.5m plus 50% of the future sale fee, had refused to attend pre-season training, presenting a medical certificate.
His agent had tried to offer him to other clubs, above all Milan, but those negotiations did not lead to an agreement. Zaniolo's contract with Udinese runs to June 2029, but the player wants improved wages and terms.
