Anna Morris wins Commonwealth Games points race as Wales take one-two

Anna Morris claimed her second gold of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with a dominant display in the women's 25km points race, heading a Welsh one-two as Jess Roberts took silver and Australia's Georgia Baker settled for bronze.

The qualified doctor, who had already won the individual pursuit and helped Wales take team pursuit bronze alongside Roberts, was in command from the start. She scored in each of the first three sprints before lapping the field to collect 20 points with around 60 laps remaining. Roberts also gained a lap on the pack and climbed the standings.

The lead swung between the Welsh pair several times in the second half of the race before Morris took control, moving six points clear of her team-mate. She sealed the win by taking 10 points in the final sprint to finish on 66, while Roberts picked up two points in the closing dash to hold off Georgia Baker, who ended just one point behind the silver position.

The result continued a memorable Games for Morris, who leaves Glasgow with gold in the individual pursuit and points race plus team pursuit bronze. Baker, winner of the team pursuit and scratch race earlier in the Games, was marked closely throughout and never found the support she needed to close the gap on the Welsh duo.
