Bournemouth have announced the signing of Uruguayan striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Spanish club Elche in a deal worth up to £25.7m. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract, with the move confirmed on the day of his birthday.
The forward arrives at the Vitality Stadium after an impressive 2025/26 campaign in La Liga, where he scored seven goals and provided five assists in 34 appearances, including memorable strikes against Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Rodriguez, a product of Real Madrid's academy, was sold to Elche last summer, with the Spanish giants retaining 50% of any future transfer fee. The Uruguay youth international, who is also eligible to represent Spain, joins the Cherries' attacking line alongside Evanilson as the club prepare for their first European campaign after qualifying for the Europa League.
