After three seasons at Inter, Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer has left the Pinetina and signed a three-year deal with Club Brugge, running until 30 June 2029. The Belgian club announced the move with a statement on its official channels on Tuesday, 14 July 2026.
Sommer, born in 1988, joined Belgium as a free agent: his contract with Inter, where he had arrived in the summer of 2023, expired on 30 June. The goalkeeper ends a Nerazzurri chapter highlighted by 2 Serie A titles, 1 Coppa Italia and 2 Italian Super Cups, alongside 66 clean sheets in 139 total appearances.
In Brussels, the 37-year-old Swiss will inherit the spot left vacant by Simon Mignolet, who retired last May at the age of 38 after guiding Club to the Belgian league title. The stated aim is a return to the Champions League: Sommer had taken Inter to the 2025 final, lost 5-0 to Paris Saint-Germain.
