Ruben Amorim has confirmed that teenage striker Francesco Camarda will remain at AC Milan for the entirety of the 2026-27 season, ending speculation that the 18-year-old would be sent out on loan.
The Portuguese head coach put an end to the transfer rumours following Milan's friendly against Celtic in Glasgow on Saturday, a match in which Camarda scored twice in seven minutes to underline his potential.
"Camarda will stay with us, in any case," Amorim told reporters after the match. "I believe a lot in him and I believe a lot in our young players. I am very happy with what they are showing — I think they have an important future at this club. I do not like to talk about individuals, but I can say with certainty that Camarda will be part of the squad for the whole season."
Until Saturday morning, a loan move had appeared the most logical next step for the young forward. Several Serie A and Serie B clubs had expressed interest in taking Camarda on a temporary deal to guarantee him regular first-team minutes. However, his performances in pre-season — culminating in the devastating two-goal display against Celtic — have convinced Amorim and the Milan hierarchy that he is ready to contribute at the highest level now.
Camarda himself spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the match, making clear his commitment to the Rossoneri. "I work at my maximum for the colours that I love," he said. "Every time I step on the pitch, in training or in a match, I give everything — I know you cannot waste opportunities like this. I grew up at Milan and I am proud of the step I took with my renewal. The coach's trust? I am happy."
The young striker, who broke through Milan's youth academy, signed a contract extension earlier this year. He is now firmly part of Amorim's first-team plans, with the coach making clear that the decision is final and that Camarda will not be allowed to leave on loan under any circumstances.
Milan are building for a new identity under Amorim, who replaced Massimiliano Allegri in the summer. The coach emphasised his desire for a more proactive, possession-based style, and Camarda's technical ability and movement make him a natural fit for that philosophy.
The Rossoneri depart for their pre-season tour of Australia on Sunday, with Camarda set to travel with the first-team squad as confirmation of his elevated status within the group.
