Aleksandar Nedeljkovic has written a new chapter in Serbian volleyball history: during Serbia's Volleyball Nations League 2026 match against Türkiye, played on Wednesday 15 July in Belgrade, the Serbian middle blocker registered his 100th career kill block in the competition. The milestone makes him the second Serbian player ever to reach the mark, behind national icon Marko Podrascanin, who stands on 102.
The feat came in the third set of the Week 3 preliminary-round clash of the men's VNL 2026. Beyond the historic block, Nedeljkovic was also Serbia's top scorer on the night, finishing with 11 points and a remarkable 91% success rate in spiking. What soured the occasion was the scoreboard: Türkiye swept the match 3-0 in a fixture that carried weight for the race to the Final Eight in China.
The context makes the achievement all the more meaningful. Beaten at home, Serbia can still celebrate an individual landmark that places Nedeljkovic in a very exclusive club. Podrascanin, with his 102 VNL stuffs, remains the country's all-time leader in the tournament; his team-mate's new milestone underlines the strength of Serbia's middle-blocking unit on the international stage.
