Numia Vero Volley Milano has completed its roster for the 2026/27 season by signing Puerto Rican outside hitter Valeria Vázquez Gomez. The Rosablu side has now finalised its 14-player squad for the upcoming Serie A1 Femminile season and Champions League campaign.
Born in Manatí, Puerto Rico, on January 28, 2001, Vázquez Gomez stands at 185 cm and represents the Puerto Rican national team. She began her career at hometown club Marista El Salvador before moving to the United States in 2019 to play NCAA Division I volleyball at the University of Pittsburgh.
After five seasons in Pennsylvania, she turned professional with the Omaha Supernovas in Nebraska. Her first experience in Italy came in the 2025/26 season with èpiù Casalmaggiore in Serie A2, where she scored 258 points and finished as the team's second-leading scorer.
"I can't wait to start the new season," Vázquez Gomez said. "I am truly happy and grateful to play in Serie A1 for the first time in my career. What makes this opportunity even more special is becoming part of the Numia Vero Volley Milano family, a prestigious club with wonderful fans."
"I will do everything to continue developing my game, push beyond my limits, and take on new challenges that will help me grow as a player," she added. "I am excited to start this adventure and can't wait to step on the court."
Her honours include three Atlantic Coast Conference titles with Pittsburgh and two Asics Classics. With the Puerto Rican national team, she won gold at the NORCECA Final Four in 2023 and 2025, plus bronze at the 2025 Pan American Cup.
With Vázquez Gomez's arrival, Numia Vero Volley Milano has closed its transfer market, completing the squad with a hitter who impressed in her first Italian season and is ready to compete at the highest level of women's volleyball.
