Verona Volley have announced a contract extension with Matteo Staforini, keeping the Bergamo-born libero at the club until 2030. The deal, confirmed on 22 July 2026, underlines the club's commitment to building a long-term project around a player who won the trust of the coaching staff and his team-mates in just a few months.
Born in 2003, Staforini joined Verona midway through last season, quickly adapting to the system of coach Soli's side. Despite arriving mid-campaign, the libero showed reliability, adaptability and technical quality that convinced the board to secure his services with a five-year contract.
"Verona welcomed me with open arms in the middle of an intense season and it was an easy decision to strengthen my bond with this club," Staforini said. "We have a competitive squad with a strong drive for constant growth.
