Rana Verona has made official the return of Simone Anzani: the 1992-born middle blocker joins the first team starting with the 2026/27 season, completing the club's pool of middle hitters.
Born in Como on 24 February 1992 and standing 203 centimeters tall, Anzani boasts a glittering trophy cabinet: three Italian league titles, three Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups, one Club World Championship and one Challenge Cup at club level, plus his successes with the Italian national team, with whom he won the European Championship in 2021 and the World Championships in 2022 and 2025, ending his international career on 211 caps after the world title in the Philippines.
A product of the Sisley Treviso youth academy, Anzani has worn the jerseys of Perugia, Modena and Civitanova and played for Verona between 2013 and 2017, a key stage in his development. After the last two seasons at Modena, the middle blocker returns to the city that adopted him, which will make its Champions League debut in the upcoming campaign.
